Placenta previa is a complication of labour which has always, with good reason, been dreaded by the accoucheur. There is no other complication which puts his skill and courage to so severe a test, and, except rupture of the uterus, there is none which is so dangerous. Fortunately it is rare. For this reason, as well as on account of its gravity, every case of placenta prsevia is worth recording, and an experience of not more than a dozen cases becomes valuable.
